Frequently asked questions about Login
Here you can find answers to common questions about login and security in the AutoDo System.
This FAQ section explains the most important topics related to login, your user access details, and two-factor authentication.
General topics
The AutoDo System is a fully browser-based application. It works on all common operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux) and can be accessed from any internet-enabled device – whether PC, notebook or tablet. No software installation is required. For smooth use, only a current web browser and a stable internet connection are needed.
For security reasons, the System automatically logs you out after 8 hours of inactivity, requiring you to log in again.
For security reasons, user access is automatically deactivated after several weeks of inactivity.
Please contact your administrator for reactivation or get in touch with the AutoDo Support.
Please read the displayed error message carefully. In many cases, it is sufficient to clear the browser cache using the shortcut Ctrl+F5. Then restart your browser and make sure that no other browser window is active.
If the error message still appears afterwards, please contact the AutoDo Support and provide the complete error message.
For login, your email address is used as your user ID. If you have forgotten your password, click on "Forgot password" on the login page and enter your email address. You will then receive a message with a link to reset your password.
Note: If you do not receive an email, please contact the AutoDo Support. In this case, a different address may be stored in your user profile.
If you can't log in to the AutoDo System, please check the following:
- Have you entered your access data completely and correctly?
- Has your account not been locked due to several weeks of inactivity?
Tip: Clear your browser cache using the shortcut Ctrl+F5 and restart your browser.
If the problem persists, please contact AutoDo Support for a detailed check.

Topics around two-factor authentication
With two-factor authentication, you can protect your access even more securely. In addition to your username and password, a second verification step is required – either via a link sent by email or a code from an authenticator app. This extra level of security ensures that no one can access your data without permission, even if your password becomes known.
Important: If your company has defined a uniform authentication method, no individual selection option will be available to you.
Since 15/09/2025, two-factor authentication (2FA) has been mandatory for all users. Switching back to email address + password (without 2FA) is no longer possible for security reasons.
Important: If your company has defined a uniform authentication rule for employee user access, login is carried out exclusively according to these company specifications.
In your profile, you can choose between two methods of two-factor authentication:
- By email: After login, you receive an email with a code, which you then enter on the login page.
- By authenticator app (TOTP): You enter a six-digit code from your authenticator app on the login page.
Both options provide a high level of security and are easy to set up.
Important: If your company has defined a uniform authentication method, no individual selection option will be available to you.
To log in with two-factor authentication via email in the AutoDo System, enter your username and password on the login page as usual and click "Log in". An email will then be sent to your registered email address in the system.
Open this email in your inbox and click the confirmation link it contains to log in automatically.
Alternatively, you can copy the six-digit code from the email and enter it on the login page. After successful confirmation, you will be logged in automatically.
First log in with your access data. A QR code and an input field for a six-digit code will then be displayed. At the first login, scan the QR code with your preferred authenticator app (e.g. Aegis, Microsoft or Google Authenticator). This links your user access with the app once.
For later logins, scanning is no longer required. Simply open the authenticator app, read the currently displayed six-digit code and enter it into the input field on the login page to confirm your login.
Note: The app automatically generates a new code every 30 seconds. This keeps your user access secure at all times.
You can use any app that supports the TOTP standard. Popular apps include for example:
- Aegis Authenticator (open source with backup function)
- Google Authenticator (simple and widely used)
- Microsoft Authenticator (feature-rich)
These apps are available free of charge in the app stores.
If you lose your smartphone or can no longer use the authenticator app, you have several options. If a replacement device is available, you can scan the QR code shown after login to retrieve the code. Alternatively, please contact AutoDo Support to have your access switched to an alternative authentication method.
A one-time password (OTP) is a security code that is valid for a single login only and is used in addition to your regular password. As the name suggests, each OTP code can be used only once and becomes invalid immediately after use.
OTP is a core component of two-factor authentication. It protects your access even if your regular password falls into the wrong hands.
TOTP is the abbreviation for Time-based One-Time Password and is a method of two-factor authentication. A new six-digit code is automatically generated every 30 seconds – directly in your authenticator app.
During the initial setup, your user access is linked to your app via a QR code. Afterwards, when you open the app, a six-digit code is displayed, which you must enter during login in the system to sign in.
TOTP is considered particularly secure and user-friendly – and is therefore supported by default in the system.
Please read the displayed error message carefully in this case.
Possible reasons for a code not being accepted include:
- The code from the authenticator app has expired (TOTP codes are only valid for 30 seconds).
- The time on your device is not set correctly.
- An incorrect or outdated code was used in the app.
- Typing error when entering the code.
Please check these points and try again. If the problem persists, please contact the AutoDo Support.
